Documentaries

This section showcases my work in short-form documentary storytelling, where I’ve led projects from concept to completion. These documentaries reflect my passion for capturing real people, culture, and subcultures with care and creative precision. From directing and shooting, to recording sound and post-production editing, my approach aims to blend technical self-sufficiency with an eye for narrative and authenticity.

Lattitude

May 2024, Mini Documentary

A self-produced documentary following Wishaw-based indie rock band The Latitude as they navigated the challenges of Glasgow’s post-COVID live music scene. Shot, recorded, and edited entirely by myself, this film explores themes of perseverance, identity, and the grassroots music culture that pulses beneath Scotland’s creative surface. The piece captures both personal and cultural commentary on what it means to survive — and thrive — as an emerging band in a saturated and uncertain industry.

Created during my third year of university, this collaborative documentary investigates the historical and cultural transition from Dadaist art to punk expression within the music scene. My role focused on editing the full documentary and providing the voiceover narration, working alongside a small team responsible for capturing interviews and sound design. The film contextualises rebellion, absurdism, and DIY ethos across decades, drawing connections between artistic protest and musical defiance.
